Psychotherapy Offerings

My Approach

I support clients using experiential and somatic approaches to mobilize root emotional content that cannot be accessed or moved through traditional talk therapy alone. Many approaches to therapy and inner work stay at the intellectual and cognitive level, which rarely or slowly affect deep structural change. Engaging in more experiential and embodied work seems to bring the shifts people were unable to find in mainstream counseling. Experiential approaches support healing and transformation because they mobilize material in ways intellectual approaches can't. Understanding and awareness are deeply important, and they don’t often fully bring the movement and resolution people seek. Awareness and understanding must come through a persons own inner experiences, not mere intellectual exercise. Experiential approaches support profound movement, change, and transformation.

Specialization

I work with clients to move depression, trauma, anxiety, grief, addiction, and spiritual crisis. I also work with clients navigating relationship struggles, family dynamics, and relationship to themselves. Experiential approaches help clients restore vitality that can sometimes feel missing. Many people are looking for ways to just feel ok in the world again. And some people are wanting to find ways to thrive.

Intensives

I offer day and multi-day intensives for individuals looking for more depth and non-traditional approaches to their process. I collaborate with clients to craft experiences to mobilize depth in ways meaningful to them. Intensives often involve wilderness experience, breathwork, adventure, or personalized ceremony.

Group Work

I offer a particular type of group work focused on mobilizing non-verbal emotional material. Research shows that much of trauma and inhibitory emotion is stored in parts of the brain not accessed by language, so using non-cognitive and non-verbal approaches are potentially the best ways to work with these kinds of content. In my experience, group work is the most potent way to move this material. I support existing groups including men’s circles, women’s circles, or existing friend groups who would like to support each other in this context and profound healing. I offer each group an introduction to how and why this approach seems to be so profound, then facilitate each group member in an individual process incorporating the larger group in support. Group work can last a half day to a full weekend depending on group size.

Online

Sometimes working in person isn’t an option. For those seeking support across the globe, I offer online video sessions and consultations. It can be hard to find a professional you trust and resonate with, and video sessions are a way I can bridge the distance.

Cost and Time

Sessions are $300 per hour. I generally meet with clients for hour, 1.5 hour, or two hour sessions. Some people find core content mobilizes easily in a typical hour session, and other people prefer longer deep dive sessions. I accept cash, check, PayPal, or cards.

Office and Hours

I have a professional office centrally located in Boulder near Pearl Street, and another in Gunbarrel. I see clients 7am-8pm, Monday through Friday. I do travel to facilitate workshops one week a month, and keep clients informed about my travel dates well in advance to support our in person meetings.
